A picture of me

Contact me

I have been working as an Assistant Professor at Oslo University College since 2003. Here I have been teaching programming and security courses. I have also tutored several bachelor groups in their bachelor projects, as well as master students in their projects.

On August 1st, 2007, I started on my PhD, focusing on the field of Information Visualization and Human Computer Interaction (HCI). If you are interested in what I am doing, please check my research page.

I was part of the local arrangement committee for UIC'08, which was held June 23-25, 2008.

I was also part of the local arrangement committee for the NIK07 conference, which was arranges by Oslo University College from the 19th to the 21st of November, 2007.

Before I stared at Oslo University College, I worked for Telenor R&D. I mainly worked as a developer on a number of projects regarding distrbuted virtual reality environments. We developed an in-house tool called DOVRE (Distributed Object-oriented Virtual Reality Environment), a C++ based tool for easy creation of these types of environments. This effort resultet in the firm Octaga, and their products are based on the work we did at Telenor.

If you are interested, I also have a couple of other net-places where I put infromation. Some of my rambelings can be found at my blog. I also have a tumblelog at http://simhag.tumblr.com/, where I post things that I find funny or interesting, and a personal homepage at http://web.mac.com/simenhag/
