Call for papers

Please note:

There are two new aspects introduced in this year's conference:

Participants are encouraged to submit workshop proposals covering special topics of interest. These workshops are planned for Monday, November 19.
The best papers from the conference will be considered for possible inclusion in a special section of the Journal of Software and Systems (Elsevier) after the conference.

Contributions

The following contributions are encouraged:

papers reporting ongoing or completed research to be included in the conference proceedings and presented orally at the conference.
short papers reporting research at an early stage to be included in the conference proceedings (4 pages). Short papers are given as short oral presentations or posters.
suggestions for panel discussion themes.
proposals for half-day workshops on special topics of interest.
short presentations reporting development activities of general interest. Reports from the IT-industry are especially encouraged.
NIK is also seeking student papers. NIK will waive the registration fee for some students presenting a paper at NIK. Remember to indicate that a submission is student work.

Practical information

Papers can be authored and presented at the conference in either English or Norwegian.

All contributions are peer-reviewed and accepted manuscripts are included in the proceedings published by Tapir.

The papers must not have been published previously. NIK do not require a transfer of copyright, which will remain with the author. Extended and more mature versions of the manuscripts can therefore be published in journals etc after the conference.

Publish your paper in a journal

The best two or three papers will be considered for possible inclusion in a forthcoming issue of the Journal of Software and Systems (Elsevier). These papers must fit the scope of the journal (see the journal home page), be written in English and the author must be willing to prepare an extended version that is sufficiently different to the NIK-version. Authors interested in having their manuscripts considered should indicate so in the cover letter. Extended versions of such papers must undergo an additional round of peer-review.
